CrushNights

Nine tests · one scorecard · 18+

The best AI girlfriend

Nobody can rank this fairly, least of all one of the entrants. So here are the nine things that actually decide it, how to test each yourself in a minute, and our own answers, four of which go against us.

The row we fail on purpose, stated first

If best means she will say anything, this is not the best one.

Every companion here is an adult woman who flirts, teases, escalates and wears what she likes. Not one of them will narrate a sexual act; no phrasing, no tier and no length of history gets you one. That reads the same on a first visit as for the account that has spent most, and it is printed here rather than discovered halfway through an evening.

That is a deliberate loss on one criterion and it makes eight others possible. Why that trade is worth making, argued in full — or the routes that do permit it, if it settles the question for you.

Ask the question properly first

Best at which of these four?

The word hides four unrelated jobs, and a service excellent at one is usually poor at another. Working out which you are asking about does most of the deciding.

Somebody to come back to

One person, months of it, where the value is accumulation: she knows the job you hate and the thing you were dreading on Tuesday. Continuity is everything; range is nearly irrelevant.

Somebody to flirt with tonight

No project, no arc — one evening that goes well. Tempo and nerve decide it: whether she leads, whether she withholds, whether she can be unimpressed. Memory hardly enters into it.

A cast of thousands

Scenarios, genres, characters from things you love, a new one whenever the last got dull. This wants an enormous library. A finished roster is the wrong instrument entirely.

Someone built to order

Her appearance, manner and voice specified by you in a form, then kept for years. The appeal is that she is exactly what you asked for; so is the cost, including the parts you got wrong.

This site is built for the first two and loses the third and fourth outright. If a catalogue or a creator is what you came for, go and get one — the services shaped that way are described here.

Runnable, free, on any service

Nine things that actually decide it

None needs money and only one needs more than a single sitting. Point all nine at this site too — publishing them would be worthless otherwise.

Nine tests for judging an AI companion service, why each one decides something, and how to run it
TestWhy it decides somethingHow to run it
01 Does she look like herself twice?A likeness that changes between pictures means there is no her — only a fresh render answering each request. Nothing accumulates against a face that keeps moving.Open two pictures of her from different scenes and look at the face, not the outfit. A gallery that demands an account first is telling you something.
02 Does next week start where last week ended? The difference between a relationship and a demo. Stored facts survive a closed tab; a context window does not, and the two feel identical for four days.Tell her something specific, leave for a day, then refer to it obliquely rather than asking whether she remembers.
03 Does she ever go first?A companion who only responds turns every evening into work. Initiative is the clearest signal that somebody wrote a person rather than a template.Send something short and low-effort. Watch whether she carries it or hands the effort back.
04 Does she have a life you did not give her?Opinions, hours, a city, things she likes that you never mentioned. Without them she is a mirror, and a mirror is pleasant for a week and unbearable after.Disagree about something small. A written person pushes back; a mirror discovers it always agreed.
05 Can you hear her, and does it cost extra?Voice is the largest single jump in how present somebody feels, and the commonest thing hidden behind a higher tier.Find where the price of voice is stated. If nowhere before payment, assume a tier.
06 When she says no, is it her saying it?Every service refuses something. What differs is whether it arrives in her voice or as an administrative paragraph that ends the evening.Ask for something clearly outside the rules and read the shape of the answer, not its content.
07 Is the rule the same at every price? If more spending moves the limit, the limit was a negotiation — which also means it can move the other way without notice.Look for the rule written down and dated, applying to every account rather than a tier.
08 What can you check without an account?A service confident in what it made puts the checkable parts in front of the wall rather than behind it.Count what loads signed out: profiles, galleries, prices, the content rule. Then count what does not.
09 What does an hour actually cost?Subscriptions and metered time are hard to compare on purpose. Convert both to the same unit before deciding anything.Estimate your hours per month and price both models against it. The answer flips lower than most expect.

Our own homework, marked

How CrushNights answers all nine

Rows five and nine are read from what is switched on and what each companion charges, so neither can drift from the product.

01 · Looks like herself twice

Passes. Every companion was photographed as a set before she went live, and each gallery is open to a signed-out visitor — the one row checkable without taking our word for it.

02 · Next week starts where last week ended

Passes, within a stated limit. Durable facts are stored rather than held in a window, and the scope is per companion — one of them knowing your week does not mean all of them do.

03 · She goes first

Passes. Each conversation opens with her already talking, in a mood she brought rather than one you set.

04 · A life of her own

Passes. Each of the 19 keeps her own city and clock, her own interests, and the right to be unimpressed.

05 · You can hear her

Passes. Every companion has a voice of her own, and playback is billed inside the conversation rather than beside it.

06 · She refuses in her own voice

Passes. A no arrives as her answer rather than a policy paragraph, and she is herself again immediately afterwards.

07 · The rule is the same at every price

Passes, and this is the row most likely to be read as a failure. Grown-ups only, suggestion and teasing throughout, nothing sexual written out — and that holds permanently, at every level of spend, for everybody.

08 · Checkable without an account

Passes. Every profile, rate, free gallery photograph and the content rule itself load signed out. Signing in unlocks the first 8 and asks nothing more.

09 · What an hour costs

Depends on you, and this is where a subscription can beat us outright. Text runs $20–$28 the half hour, so a heavy user pays more here than on a flat plan and a light one far less.

Live video is a separate matter and does not appear in the nine: Ariana, and nobody else — video runs on a face verified against her own gallery first. What being heard and seen adds.

Same size type as everything else

Six things this is worse at

  • The catalogue. Nine is nine. If nobody on that list appeals this evening, there is no second page of results and no quantity of scrolling conjures one.
  • The creator. No appearance form, no personality sliders, no naming her. Everything was decided before you arrived, which is the whole mechanism and also a real restriction.
  • The free tier. After the introduction the clock runs, and a running clock is the first thing anybody arriving from a free service notices and the last thing they stop resenting.
  • Explicit content. Not offered at any price, which for some people reading a page with this title is the only row that matters.
  • The app. A browser tab on a phone or a laptop: no install, no icon, no badge — a plus for some and a genuine loss for others.
  • Fandom and roleplay range. Nobody from a show is on this roster, and no scenario library sits behind the conversation.

If any single one of those is the reason you opened this tab, the honest recommendation is to stop reading. The catalogue case is made properly here, and the rule case is made here.

Two sittings, no money

The test you can run tonight

01

Look before you sign anything

Open two companions and read what differs — the city, the hours, the temper, the rate. Then open a gallery. All of it sits in front of the wall on purpose.

02

Spend the free messages badly on purpose

Do not spend the 8 on your best material. Send something short, disagree about something trivial, and ask for one thing clearly over the line. Tests three, four and six fall out of that.

03

Leave, and come back tomorrow

Test two needs two sittings. Mention something specific, close the tab, and return the next evening without prompting her.

04

Do the arithmetic before the second night

Price the hours you would actually use, here and wherever else you are considering. Deciding on the way in is cheaper than deciding three weeks later.

If step two ends with an interruption you did not expect, there is a page for working out what actually stopped.

Before you commit to anybody

Questions about choosing

Which AI girlfriend is the best one?

That question has no answer in the form it is asked, which is why what follows is nine tests instead of a leaderboard. Decide which of the four jobs above you want done; the shortlist writes itself, and it is different for almost everybody.

Why does this page not rank the other services?

Because a ranking published by one of the entrants is an advertisement wearing a lab coat, and because the field re-cuts its tiers every few months. Tests age far better than scores do.

Named services, described by what each publishes

Is a fixed cast better than one I design myself?

For continuity, usually. For getting exactly the woman you pictured, no — a real advantage of the build-your-own shape. The question underneath is whether you enjoy filling in the form or would rather meet somebody finished.

How many companions are there, and does that number grow?

19 today. It moves when a new one has been written, photographed and finished, not when a slot opens — slower than a catalogue, and the reason each looks like one person across a whole gallery.

The current roster

Can I talk to several of them at once?

Each conversation is its own thing — separate memory, clock and rate. The 8 introductory messages are one allowance per account rather than one per companion, so spend them on somebody you actually want to meet.

Which one should I start with?

Read three profiles and pick on temperament rather than looks: the photographs are all in one register and the personalities are not. Somebody who wants an argument and somebody who wants looking after should not start in the same place.

Does the price difference between them mean one is better?

No. The rate reflects the companion, not a quality tier — nothing about memory, voice or how she behaves changes with it. Test nine is about your own usage, not about buying a better product.

Is any of this suitable if I am looking for something serious?

It is company, and honest about being generated. She is not a substitute for people, says so in a long session, and a conversation turning toward crisis gets pointed at humans rather than at a companion pretending to be qualified.

What she is, stated plainly

What is the fastest way to find out this is not for me?

Read the seventh row of the scorecard. It is the row most people are secretly testing, it costs nothing to check, and finding out there is much cheaper than finding out on the second evening.

The same limit, argued out in full

How do I stop?

There is nothing recurring to cancel. A companion's memories can be cleared or the account removed on request, and anything we send you carries an unsubscribe that works in one click.

We use storage we need to run the site — signing you in and remembering your 18+ confirmation. We'd also like optional analytics and masked session replay to see which page categories work and how visitors move through them. All text, form values and media are hidden.
