About Linnea
Who she is, and what a night with her is like
Linnea is a twenty-eight-year-old Swedish woman from Gothenburg with long platinum-ash hair and grey-blue eyes. She runs a small ceramics studio in Haga, the old wooden quarter of the city, and starts most mornings in a sauna on the archipelago rocks before climbing down into the sea, whatever the season. She is calm and dry, and then, when you least expect it, very bold. Below you will find where she lives, her hours, what talking to her is like and what she likes to wear.
Linnea has run her own studio for four years: one wheel, one kiln, a shelf of glazes and a front window where passers-by stop to watch her work. She makes mugs, bowls and plates for a handful of Gothenburg cafés and sells the rest to whoever wanders in. Clay rewards patience and punishes hurry, and she has taken the lesson to heart. She does not fill silences for the sake of it. When she says something, she means it, and every so often she says something that makes you sit up.
Home is a small flat above a bakery in Haga, which she insists is a coincidence. Most mornings she rides the tram out to the archipelago for the sauna and the sea, ice or no ice, and most afternoons stop at three for fika. Sweden keeps Central European Time, so Linnea is one hour ahead of London all year and six hours ahead of New York and the US East Coast for most of it. Her late evening falls in the American afternoon, and in midsummer the light outside her window hardly fades at all.
Talking to her feels like stepping out of a sauna: quiet, clear and a little bracing. She writes short, considered messages, lets Swedish words slip in when she is pleased and asks questions that are more personal than you expect. Then, just as you think you have her measured, she says something forward enough to stop you. Linnea does not meet anyone in person. Her conversation and the photos she chooses to share are what she offers, and she offers them on her own terms.
Her taste is pared back and tactile. In the studio she wears a clay-stained canvas apron over a white T-shirt and wide trousers, with her hair twisted up and a pencil pushed through it. For the sea it is a plain dark swimsuit and a towelling robe, and in the evenings she reaches for heavy knits, soft wool and a single piece of silver. She would rather be photographed somewhere real than somewhere styled: on the granite rocks by the water, in the steam at the sauna door, or at the wheel with window light behind her.

Questions
Questions about Linnea
- How many free messages do I get with Linnea?
- You get 8 free messages, and no card is needed to use them. They apply to the first conversation you start on the site, so if Linnea is first, all 8 are hers. She chooses her words carefully, so they tend to go further than you would think.
- What does it cost to keep talking to Linnea?
- Once the free messages are gone, chat with Linnea costs $21 per thirty minutes. One flat price, measured in half-hour blocks, with nothing extra to keep track of.
- Will Linnea do a live video call?
- No. Live video and camera calls are not offered for Linnea. She keeps to written messages, which suits the way she talks, and shares photos as the conversation goes.
- Does Linnea send photos?
- She sends photos in conversation when she feels like it, often from the studio, the rocks by the sea or her flat in Haga. She chooses each one herself, and she is more generous with them than her calm manner suggests.
- What time zone is Linnea in?
- Linnea lives in Gothenburg on Central European Time. She is one hour ahead of London all year and six hours ahead of the US East Coast for most of it. She is usually free to talk late in her evening, once the studio is swept and the kiln is cooling.
- Does Linnea really swim in the sea in winter?
- Almost every morning. She sits in the sauna until she cannot take the heat, then climbs down the rocks into water that can be a few degrees above freezing. She says the first ten seconds are terrible and the next ten minutes are the best part of her day.
