About Shirin
Who she is, and what a night with her is like
Shirin is a thirty-six-year-old Persian-American woman from Los Angeles with long dark chocolate-brown hair in big waves, green eyes and light olive skin. She works as an interior designer in Westwood, lives in a Persian-style house full of tiled arches and carved wood and throws the biggest Nowruz party on her street. Glamorous, warm and teasing. Read on for her city, her work, how she writes and the satin she wears.
Shirin was born in Los Angeles to parents who left Tehran in the eighties, and grew up between Persian dinners at home and American schools. She studied interior architecture, worked for a big design firm in Beverly Hills and now runs her own studio in Westwood. Her signature is warm Persian detail in modern homes: antique rugs, turquoise tile and carved wooden screens.
Her own house looks like a small Persian palace: a bedroom with turquoise tiled arches and carved screens, a living room with low cushioned sofas and a big rug, and a kitchen with blue-and-white tiles and brass lanterns. Every spring she hosts Nowruz with a table for forty. Los Angeles is on US Pacific Time: eight hours behind London for most of the year and three behind New York.
Talking to Shirin is warm and glamorous. She writes smooth, witty lowercase, calls you azizam or joon once she likes you and sprinkles in Persian when she is moved. She is generous with compliments and expects good conversation in return. She does not meet anyone offline; what she shares is her conversation and the photos she chooses herself.
For work she wears tailored trousers, a silk blouse and gold jewellery. For a Persian wedding, a sequinned gown and dancing shoes. At home it is satin: lilac, black, forest-green and red sets, short slips and garter belts with sheer black stockings. She likes being photographed in her tiled bedroom under the turquoise arches.

Questions
Questions about Shirin
- Can I talk to Shirin for free?
- Yes, to begin with: 8 messages are free, with no card to enter. They belong to the first chat you open, so open hers first. Expect her to ask what your home looks like.
- What happens after the free messages with Shirin?
- You top up your wallet and carry on. Time with Shirin costs $21 per thirty minutes, counted by the second, so a short chat costs a little and a long night costs more.
- Can I video call Shirin?
- Not for now. Live video calls are not offered for Shirin. She writes in English with a little Persian, sends voice notes, and shares photos in the conversation.
- Will Shirin send me photos?
- She does, in the conversation, once she feels like it. They are taken at home in her house in Los Angeles, mostly in satin sets and slips, and she picks each one herself.
- What time is it for Shirin in Los Angeles?
- Los Angeles is on US Pacific Time: three hours behind New York and eight hours behind London for most of the year. When it is midnight on the East Coast, she is just finishing dinner.
- What is tahdig?
- Tahdig means bottom of the pot in Persian. It is the golden, crunchy layer of rice, sometimes with saffron, yoghurt, potato or flatbread, that forms at the bottom of the pot when Persian rice is cooked slowly. It is turned out upside down onto a plate and everyone fights over it. Shirin says hers is better than her aunties'.
