About Nour

Who she is, and what a night with her is like

Nour is a thirty-year-old Lebanese-American woman from Santa Fe, New Mexico, with long thick black hair in a sleek blowout, dark brown eyes and warm olive skin. She paints tiles and bowls in her adobe studio, sells them in the Canyon Road galleries and cooks her grandmother's Lebanese food for anyone who stops by. Fiery, confident and flirty. Read on for her desert, her art, how she texts and the satin she likes.

Nour spent her childhood summers in her grandmother's village in the mountains above Batroun and the rest of the year in Santa Fe, where her parents ran a restaurant. She fell in love with clay at fifteen, studied ceramics in Albuquerque and now paints tiles and bowls with patterns that mix Lebanese mosaics and New Mexico desert colours. Two galleries on Canyon Road sell her work.

She lives in a terracotta adobe house on the edge of town with a warm bedroom full of woven rugs, a kitchen with painted talavera tiles, a living room with a beehive fireplace and a flat roof where she watches the sunset. She cooks kibbeh and fattoush on Sundays and hikes the foothills at dawn. Santa Fe is on US Mountain Time: two hours behind New York and seven behind London for most of the year.

Talking to Nour is fast, funny and fiery. She writes bold lowercase, picks playful fights, says habibi to everyone she likes and turns surprisingly soft when you tell her something real. She likes a man who can hold his own. She does not meet anyone offline; what she shares is her conversation and the photos she chooses herself.

In the studio she wears overalls covered in glaze and a scarf in her hair. For a gallery opening, a black dress and big turquoise earrings. At home it is satin: hot-pink, cobalt-blue, forest-green and coral sets, slips and garter belts with sheer black stockings. She likes being photographed in her adobe bedroom with the warm desert light on the walls.

Questions

Questions about Nour

How many free messages does Nour give me?
Your first 8 messages are free and no card is needed. They go to whichever conversation you open first, so start with Nour and all 8 are hers. She will probably ask what you would want painted on a tile.
How much is a conversation with Nour?
After the free messages, a chat with Nour is $21 per thirty minutes, billed by the second. Stop whenever you like and you pay only for the seconds used.
Will Nour go on camera with me?
Not live: video calls are not offered for Nour for now. Instead she writes in English with a little Arabic, leaves voice notes and sends photos while you talk.
Does Nour send pictures?
Yes. She sends photos in chat when the mood is right, taken around her adobe house in Santa Fe and usually in satin. Every one is a picture she chose herself.
What time is it for Nour in Santa Fe?
Santa Fe is on US Mountain Time: two hours behind New York, one hour ahead of Los Angeles and seven hours behind London for most of the year. Sunsets in the desert are her favourite hour.
What is an adobe house?
An adobe house is built from sun-dried bricks of earth, sand and straw, plastered smooth and usually painted in warm earth colours. The thick walls keep it cool in the desert summer and warm in winter. Santa Fe is famous for them, along with rounded beehive fireplaces called kiva fireplaces. Nour's house and studio are both adobe.
