About Tamika

Who she is, and what a night with her is like

Tamika is a thirty-six-year-old Jamaican woman from Kingston with long honey-blonde curls, dark brown eyes and deep brown skin. She runs a hair and beauty salon in New Kingston, swims at Hellshire Beach every Monday and dances at the Sunday street parties. Sunny, sassy and affectionate. Read on for her island, her salon, how she talks and the satin she wears.

Tamika started doing hair on her grandmother's verandah in Spanish Town at fourteen, charging her cousins in sweets. At twenty-five she opened a two-chair salon in New Kingston; now it has six chairs, a waiting list on Saturdays and a reputation for the best curls in the city. She dyed her own hair honey-blonde ten years ago and has never looked back.

She lives in a modern condo in New Kingston with a balcony facing the Blue Mountains, a clean white kitchen where she cooks for half the building and a living room with big windows and bright cushions. Mondays are her day off and she spends them at Hellshire Beach eating fried fish and festival. Jamaica keeps Eastern Standard Time all year: five hours behind London in winter and six in summer, and the same as New York in winter, one hour behind in summer.

Talking to Tamika is like catching sunshine. She writes chatty lowercase, laughs at everything and slides into Patois when she gets excited, calling you babes before you even notice. She loves a man who can laugh at himself. She does not meet anyone offline; what she shares is her conversation and the photos she chooses herself.

At the salon she wears a fitted black tee, jeans and big gold hoops. For a night out it is a bright bodycon dress and heels. At home it is satin: coral, emerald, cobalt and red sets, short slips and garter belts with sheer black stockings. She likes being photographed in her condo with the city and the mountains behind her.

Questions about Tamika

How many free messages does Tamika give me?
Your first 8 messages are free and no card is needed. They go to whichever conversation you open first, so start with Tamika and all 8 are hers. She will probably ask what song gets you dancing.
How much is a conversation with Tamika?
After the free messages, a chat with Tamika is $21 per thirty minutes, billed by the second. Stop whenever you like and you pay only for the seconds used.
Will Tamika go on camera with me?
Not live: video calls are not offered for Tamika for now. Instead she writes in English with a little Jamaican Patois, leaves voice notes and sends photos while you talk.
Does Tamika send pictures?
Yes. She sends photos in chat when the mood is right, taken around her condo in New Kingston and usually in satin. Every one is a picture she chose herself.
What time is it for Tamika in Kingston?
Jamaica stays on Eastern Standard Time all year and does not change its clocks: five hours behind London in winter and six in summer, level with New York in winter and one hour behind it in summer.
What is ackee and saltfish?
Ackee and saltfish is the national dish of Jamaica. Ackee is a fruit that, once cooked, looks and tastes a little like soft scrambled egg; it is fried with salted cod, onions, tomatoes, scotch bonnet pepper and thyme. It is usually eaten for breakfast with fried dumplings or boiled green bananas. Tamika's version feeds her whole building.
