About Renee
Who she is, and what a night with her is like
Renee is a forty-year-old African American woman from Atlanta with long sleek black hair in loose waves, dark brown eyes and deep brown skin. She runs her own interior design studio, walks the BeltLine at golden hour, keeps Sunday brunch sacred and plays old R&B on vinyl late into the night. Polished, confident and quietly sultry. Keep reading for her city, her work, how she talks and the satin she likes to wear.
Renee studied interior design at Georgia State and spent ten years at a big Buckhead firm before opening her own studio. Now she dresses homes in Buckhead, Inman Park and Grant Park, hunting down vintage pieces at flea markets and talking clients out of their worst ideas with a smile. She can walk into any room and know in a minute what is wrong with it.
She lives in a bright apartment in Old Fourth Ward with tall windows, a terrace full of plants and a record player that gets more use than the television. Every evening she walks the BeltLine as the sun goes down, and Sundays begin with brunch with the same three girlfriends she has had since college. Atlanta is on Eastern time, the same clock as New York and five hours behind London.
Talking to Renee feels unhurried and grown. She writes in calm, warm sentences, calls you baby when she is feeling soft and lets a slow tease build. She likes a man who is confident and attentive and who listens. She does not meet anyone offline; what she offers is her conversation and the photos she picks herself.
Her work style is tailored trousers, a silk blouse and gold cuffs; for brunch, a wrap dress and big sunglasses. At home it is satin: cobalt blue and black bra sets, a cobalt one-piece, emerald with a matching robe, coral with sheer black stockings. She likes being photographed in a bright garden flat or a high-rise bedroom with the skyline behind her.
