She wears satin there, in black, red, burgundy, emerald and navy, with an open robe over some of it, and a run of black frames as a French maid with a frilled apron and headband. On the coast the light turns hard and bright: navy and white stripes on the beach at Nice, a red bikini on the teak deck of a sailboat, and black on the sand at Saint-Tropez at golden hour.
